Under limited supervision, performs work to provide a safe and cost-effective fleet of vehicles and equipment for Thomas County Government. Work involves supervising work in the maintenance and repair of all County vehicles and equipment. Advises Departments on the proper care and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Advises the County Manager on the condition of the fleet and makes recommendations on capital budget funding priorities. Supervises department employees which involves such duties as instructing, assigning and reviewing work, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, selecting new employees, appraising employee performance, recommending promotions, discipline, termination and salary increases.
